I'm so excited to welcome you and your child to Kindergarten at Butcher-Greene Elementary! The 2021-22 school year is my seventh year at Butcher-Greene and my 17th year in education.
I received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from ESU in 2001, and a Master’s degree in Educational Technology from MNU in 2008. I taught first grade and second grade in Kansas City, KS and Hickman Mills, but I love teaching Kindergarten the most and have taught it the longest. I enjoy it so much because of all the growth students make from the beginning to the end of the year. It's awesome to see those "Aha!" moments that come so frequently with Kindergarten students!
School keeps me pretty busy, but I also have four daughters ranging in age from elementary school to college, so my favorite thing to do is cheering on my girls at their activities. I also enjoy reading, trivia, and puzzles, traveling when I can, and spending time with family and pets.
This school year may be challenging as we navigate teaching and learning during a pandemic, but with support from our BG families, we will help our students succeed. I look forward to working with you and your student!
